from matter to decision
Train designers of all transitions, able to take on the immense challenges of the 21st century - global warming, fall in biodiversity, democratic crisis, economic crisis, health crisis - and help create the conditions for successful life experiences for all and everyone, from matter to decision, from product to experience.

for a

Nouveau Bauhaus
« I want Next Generation EU to unleash a wave of European renewal and make our Union a leader in the circular economy.
But this is not just an environmental or economic project: it must also be a new cultural project for Europe.
Each movement has its own cachet. And we need to give our systemic change its own aesthetic - to combine style and sustainability.
This is why we are going to create a new European Bauhaus - a space for co-creation in which architects, artists, students, engineers, designers work together to achieve this goal. »

European Commission President
State of the union address

a source of inspiration
rom 1919 to 1933, the Bauhaus invented a new type of school, with the aim of giving beauty and meaning to the world born of the industrial revolution.
The movement left a lasting mark on the world in its architecture, industrial design, graphic design, and even more on the crossover of disciplines in the act of creation. It is an unavoidable historical reference, which we must draw inspiration from, while surpassing it.
contributing to the european project
CY School of Design was created with the stated ambition of contributing to a European approach to design.
Because Europe is a humanist political project that is quite unique in the interplay of regional powers, we believe that design embodies and carries approaches that live up to this vision of man and society.
In this respect, we are perfectly in line with the EUTOPIA alliance, which brings together leading and like-minded European universities to form a connected and inclusive community.
EUTOPIA seeks to address both local and global challenges, thus contributing to the creation of a new model of higher education in Europe.
